As an experienced educator and leader with over 16 years in early childhood education, I am committed to creating high-quality, holistic learning environments that empower children, families, and educators. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Operations for The LUX Schools, which I co-founded, I oversee the comprehensive administration of our multi-campus early childhood program, serving over 200 children from infancy through school age. My role encompasses curriculum development, staff training, operational oversight, and community engagement, ensuring our schools maintain the highest quality standards and foster an inclusive environment.
Rooted in my training as a Montessori Administrator and my certifications in EC-4, ESL, and Childcare Health Consultation, my philosophy emphasizes a child-centered, developmentally appropriate approach. Guided by developmental and constructivist theories, I view children as active learners, with educators serving as facilitators of their educational journey. This perspective prioritizes social-emotional development, independence, and critical thinking, creating environments that nurture the whole child.
My work also reflects a dedication to fostering positive peer interactions and integrating culturally responsive practices. By incorporating collaborative play and differentiated instruction, I ensure all children, including English Language Learners and those with diverse needs, have equitable access to learning opportunities. Recognizing families as vital partners, I actively engage them in the educational process through respectful and reciprocal relationships that bridge home and school.
Looking ahead, my vision includes expanding The LUX Schools with a STEM- and social-emotional-focused campus, continuing to innovate in curriculum and environment design. I aim to elevate minority leadership in early childhood education while empowering educators and informing families through training, events, and professional development opportunities. Guided by values of flexibility, creativity, and discipline, I strive to lead with vision and adaptability, contributing to continuous improvement in the dynamic field of early childhood education.
